Who is E.M.A. Timar?
Fueled by an insatiable curiosity, I am a modern-day Renaissance woman. Educated in the hard sciences (Biology and Computer Science Engineering) at the University of Pennsylvania I have a paradoxical passion for both logic and art. When I am not working alongside my husband for our indie video game company Alchemy Games or catering to our three spoiled dogs, I can be found tapping away at my debut novel or trying to feed my creative fires by burning through a myriad of books. (Reading them not actually setting them on fire.) Despite my husband’s claims, I don’t have an eidetic memory, but I try to learn from everything I see and hear, whether a translation of an ancient text or the latest anime craze. I believe life is best lived as an eternal student. The lessons are less expensive after college, but they are never cheap.

I become immersed in my work, quite literally, with words that are inches high as I type. It took some adjustment, but I have learned to love it. Plus, the best way to not be distracted by the TV is to use it as your monitor.
